Swat

Swat, the enchanting land of magnificent scenic beauty and rich historic past, is the holiday-makers delight. Its lush-green, fertile valley; its towering snowcapped mountains; its meandering river and rushing torrents, its icy cold lakes, its fruit-laden orchards and its flower-filled slopes are some of the gifts which mother nature has bestowed on this ancient land. This is the "Land of enthralling beauty" where Alexander the Great fought and won some of his major battles before crossing over to the plains of Northern Pakistan. This is the sacred cradle of Buddhism where once flourished fourteen hundred monasteries; this is also the historical land where Mahmood of Ghazni, Babar and Akber the Great fought their fierce battles preparatory to the conquest of the sub-continent.
